Our Team
Rabbi Justin Kerber
Rabbi Justin’s path to the rabbinate has been shaped by learning, service, and a lifelong search for meaning. After studying at Columbia University, he served as a Sherut La’am volunteer at Kibbutz Ramat Yochanan in Israel, where he mentored high school seniors. He later earned a law degree from Boston College Law School before following his true calling to Torah and Jewish community. He was ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati and has served as a Hillel director, congregational rabbi, and hospital chaplain.
At Beth Shalom, Rabbi Justin helps nurture a Jewish home that is thoughtful, joyful, and welcoming. Outside the synagogue, he enjoys cooking, travel, reading, movies, radio, cycling, and, most importantly, life with his wife Hope and their two children. Inspired by Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel’s teaching that “a little light dispels a lot of darkness,” Rabbi Justin seeks to help every person find more light, connection, and purpose in Jewish life.
Songleader Juliette Nehring
A Butler University music graduate, Juliette has spent more than 30 years helping people of all ages connect through music. In the Jewish community, she has served for more than a decade as a lay leader and music specialist in Indianapolis-area congregations.
At Beth Shalom, Juliette helps make Jewish life feel accessible, spirited, and participatory. Whether leading familiar melodies, teaching children and families, or helping the congregation lift its voice together, she creates connection and helps people feel at home.
Board of Directors
Congregation Beth Shalom is shaped by the care, commitment, and leadership of our members. Our Board of Directors works in partnership with our rabbi, staff, committees, and volunteers to support the spiritual, educational, financial, and communal life of Beth Shalom.
As a lay-led congregation, we believe leadership is not just about holding a title. It is about showing up for one another, listening thoughtfully, and helping build a Jewish home where people of all ages can learn, celebrate, question, grieve, serve, and belong.
