Religious School / Youth Education
Our older students work one-on-one with our clergy, who provide customized B’nai Mitzvah and Hebrew training, lead high school students in a confirmation class, and provide a level of attention and important interaction that cannot be minimized. We welcome all children, regardless of their skill level, learning style, past Jewish education, or learning challenges.
Core Learning Experiences
Congregation Beth Shalom’s Religious School program is a project-based program focused on immersion and experiences. Children who participate in our program will:
- Global Culture: Gain understanding of Jewish culture here and around the world.
- Community & Identity: Have opportunities to discuss and express what it means to be Jewish in their families and communities.
- Hebrew Language: Be introduced to Hebrew vocabulary, Alef-Bet, and beginning Hebrew language skills.
- Lifecycles & Traditions: Explore the Jewish life cycle, Jewish holiday cycle, and Jewish calendar.
- Prayer & Celebration: Be included in Tefillah and the structure and joy of Jewish prayer and celebration.
- Active Values: Explore, discuss, and have opportunities to actively express Jewish values.
Tuition & Fee Structure
Education of our youth is a priority at CBS. We utilize a structured tuition fee system to directly support our educators and provide high-quality learning materials.
Standard Tuition: $180 per student
Maximum Family Cap: $540 (Covers 3 or more children within the same immediate family)
Payment Details
All payments are managed securely online through ShulCloud. Families are expected to either pay tuition in full or establish an active, flexible payment plan via ShulCloud prior to Rosh Hashanah.
Confidential Financial Support
We firmly believe that the cost of tuition should never deter a child from attending. No student will ever be turned away due to financial concerns. If your family is unable to afford the full cost of tuition, confidential financial aid options or custom payment arrangements can be made. Please reach out directly to our Religious School Director, Congregation Treasurer, or Rabbi to discuss your family’s situation.
