MEETING SUMMARY
Lee Manders, CBS Treasurer, reported that the congregation is in good financial standing and that CBS has already gained three new members for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
CBS Board meetings will remain on the second Tuesday of each month, but the Board decided to move them to 7:00 PM to allow people time to get there after work.
Board members were assigned to various committees as liaisons. It was officially announced that the Membership Committee intends to form a subcommittee dedicated to Marketing with Sarah Hann as its Chair.
Jerry Lande will assume chairmanship of the Jewish Film Festival for 2017.
Each committee is instructed to designate one member who will take responsibility for posting that committee’s events on the Jewish Federation (JFGI) Community Calendar. This includes Sisterhood and Brotherhood meetings.
The committee preparing a Leadership Development Program for CBS members is in the stages of finalization. It will present its plans at the next Board meeting.
Board members are tasked with bringing back goals for the coming fiscal year to the next meeting for each of four areas: CBS as a congregation, the Board, CBS/Community Involvement and Marketing.
The Board will proactively investigate recreating an ad hoc committee to explore other location possibilities to replace the current MPB should the present space become inadequate or unavailable.
President Karen Friedman will reinstate the initiative of Board members’ making telephone calls to current members in order to get to know them personally and to hear their feedback about what CBS can do for them.
The next CBS Board meeting will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 7:00 PM at the Multi-Purpose Building (MPB).
