This month, Jeff Seidenstein gave his Treasurer’s report and started that we have 78 families who have paid their dues in full or in part. More money will need to be raised for extra costs of our new building. The Worship committee will discuss whether we have enough money to pay for music at a third service each month.
The Board briefly discussed fundraising endeavors and decided to reopen the discussion next month.
Beth Lande updated the Board on our new insurance policy. The Board agreed to the policy she proposed.
The Board discussed how best to get bar/bat mitzvah students to attend Shabbat services. It will be an ongoing discussion.
Board members will give service announcements and have signed up for dates.
Board meetings will continue to be at 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of every month.
Several committees were discussed:
- The Strategic Planning committee will start work on a new proposal now that our building lease has been signed.
- A subcommittee headed by Lonnie Graul will be formed to study the recent demographic survey.
- The Protocol committee will update documentation that describes what committees, chairpeople, and members can do.
- A Facilities committee will be formed to determine what needs to be done at our new building,
After the move, Karen will contact the Current in Carmel, which wants to do a story on our grand opening.
Everyone who works with the Religious School children will receive a background check.
