Are you interested in learning more about Jewish rituals related to mourning?
Might you be interested in becoming part of a lay cadre of congregants who could lead a shiva minyan at the home of congregants?
Did you read this and wonder what a “shiva minyan” is? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you are invited to come to this session in which we will explore the many layers and traditions related to mourning, including the powerful practice of saying mourner’s kaddish in the presence of a minyan (that’s the minimum 10 adults required by tradition to say certain prayers).
We will be meeting on Sunday, February 23rd, from 12-1pm in the library for a learning session with Rabbi Justin and Nina Price. Following the session we will provide additional training in leading a shiva minyan. We hope this session will help strengthen and empower our CBS community to support one another following the death of a loved one in our congregational family.
