The activities of Congregation Beth Shalom are supported by donations. We currently have nine funds, and donors are encouraged to give to any of them:
- General Fund – This fund supports the operation of the Congregation and our temple, including compensation for clergy, building rent and upkeep, programming, and worship activities.
- Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund – This fund provides a source of funds that our rabbi may use for any purpose that supports the mission of our congregation and/or its congregants.
- Book of Remembrance/Yahrzeit Fund – This fund supports worship and related activities, including printing of our annual Book of Remembrance, published to honor the memory of congregants’ loved ones.
- Religious School Fund – This fund, overseen by the Religious School Committee, is used to fulfill our mission of educating our youth about Judaism and teaching Hebrew.
- Social Action Fund – This fund, overseen by the Social Action Committee, is used to fulfill the mission of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world – through acts of kindness and social justice, loving our neighbor, and caring for God’s creation.
- Building Fund Reserve – This fund was created to allow congregants and others to provide funds for a future acquisition and/or construction of a new temple building.
- Prayer Book Fund – This fund supports the purchase of prayer books for use by the congregation.
- Music Fund – This fund was created to help underwrite the cost of our music programs.
- Jewish Camp Scholarship Fund – This fund was created to provide scholarships for the children of temple members who wish to attend Jewish overnight summer camps
